Thanksgiving Turkeys

Daddy Steve: The kids have been coloring their hearts out with beautiful results.                             Let's take a look...

Some like Ann Marie took a very traditional approach, while others like Rhoda let their imaginations run wild.

Quite a few were inspired by great works of art...

Miguel: I was inspired by the Dutch masters.  And I love windmills.
Marta: I made a 'Klimt' turkey...
Katy: ...while mine is a 'Mondrian.'

Nathan: I've got a 'Warhol' turkey.
Kevin: I'm not sure where this came from; I know I've seen it somewhere.

Nanny Wendy: Oh!  You clever boys made a 'Jackson Pollock' turkey!
Baby Conor: Yeeee!
Mikey: Hee-hee!

From Emile and Giancarlo: a little national pride and good-natured (we hope) rivalry.

Emile: Hmmph.
Giancarlo: Hmmph.

Some drew things they liked or were meaningful to them.

Daisy: I like daisies and the color pink.
Mikko and Tyler: We like soccer and hockey!

Blake: I like Harry Potter.
Frank: I like hamburgers.
Rolf: Und I like monkeys!

Nicholas Sahara: We don't have Thanksgiving in my home country, so I drew our                       national symbol: a silver spider rampant on a field of azure.
Scout: And my turkey is getting his revenge.

BR: My turkey is a red shirt from 'Star Trek.'  Going to his doom!
Pete Dakota: I based mine on Van Gogh's 'Starry Night.'
Stephen Orange: This turkey is a cranberry jelly-fish.

Ravi and Patrick collaborated on a design that reflected their appreciation of logic.

Ravi: At Thanksgiving we have pie, so...
Patrick: ...naturally we decorated our turkeys with Pi.

Holly Belle's turkey had a message...

Holly Belle: Give you any idea, John Martin?
John Martin: I think you've got the wrong holiday, there.

Kaveh's message was timely in any season...

Each kid's artwork was unique, just like them.

Gregoropolis kids: But in the end, we're all turkeys together!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING from GREGOROPOLIS!

Thanksgiving Project 2020

Daddy Steve: Longtime Gregoropolis readers will remember that every year at Thanksgiving we have a craft project for the kids to work on.  Daddies John and Steve believe in encouraging creative self-expression.  In addition...

Tyler and Mikko: ...it keeps us busy and out of trouble.
Meghan: Well, it keeps some of us out of trouble.

Our past projects have been group efforts, such as the 2016 turkey: Thanksgiving 2016

The 2017 'Thankful Tree': Thanksgiving 2017

...and of course who can forget last year's Thanksgiving puppet show?: Thanksgiving 2019

This year is going to be a little different.  We're going to give each of the kids a turkey cut-out that they can decorate any way they choose.

Pamela and Harriet: However we want?!
Anthony: Yes; just no glitter!
Pamela and Harriet: Awwwwwww....

What will the kids come up with?

Sasha: How are you going to decorate your turkey?
Miguel: Gosh, I'm not sure.  It's going to take careful consideration.

Blake: Ah, a blank canvas!  Now, what is this turkey saying to me?
Ezra: Gobble, gobble?

Frank: How do you draw sage stuffing?
Jennifer: With celery, onion, chicken stock.....mmmm, stuffing....

Holly Belle: Now remember, Nathan, nothing weird.
Dan Ryan: Affirmative, ma'am.
Holly Belle: And stop calling me 'ma'am'!
Nathan: I'm Nathan.

Be sure to visit Gregoropolis on Thanksgiving Day for the sure-to-be exciting and artistic results!

How Green Is My Gregor?

Lulu says that all living things need water to grow and thrive...

Lulu: 🎵La-dee-da-la-la dee 🎵

Rolf: Zzzzzzzzzzzz

Rolf: Aiiieeeeeee!

Rolf: Ach! I am wet!
Lulu: Tee-hee!  Bitte!

Later..

Rolf: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Ravi: Dare we even ask?
Patrick: >Sigh<  So illogical.

Dogs and Their Boys

It's a beautiful fall day in Gregoropolis, so Denali and Annabelle decided to take their humans out for some fresh air and exercise...

Denali came to us as a puppy, when Pete Dakota found her at the 2019 Sasha Festival Animal Adoption event.  For both, it was love at first sight.

She's not a puppy any more, but Pete and Denali are still devoted to each other.  They might even be bestier besties than Pete and Benjamin Roy!

BR got Annabelle shortly after he arrived here; she helped ease his transition into his new home.

BR: Who's a good girl?  Who's my best girl?
Annabelle: Arf!  Arf!  ("Me! Me!")

Annabelle and Denali get along wonderfully, too.  Well, most of the time...

Annabelle: Rowf!  ("Mine!")
Denali: >Whine<  ("Can't you share?")

I wonder what they're talking about... the world of canine affairs?  Their humans?
Who gives the best skritches?
