'Continental' Cookies

Daddy Steve:  This weekend I baked Christmas cookies for the boys (including the big one I'm married to).  Minnesota Public Radio was playing lovely Christmas music, which helped me get in the mood.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not very talented at shaped cookies.  They go into the oven looking like trees, stars, and candy canes and come out vaguely resembling continents (Africa, in particular).

Kaveh and Giancarlo assure me that they still taste just as good.

Kaveh: They smell yummy!
Giancarlo: When can we have one?

And with that, Gregoropolis has reached 100 posts!
Thank you for reading and here's to the next 100!

Thanks Simply! Yes, the Kitchen Aid really is wonderful for baking!

Thanks Dee! The cookies seem to be disappearing fast enough, and no one is complaining :-)

The taste is what counts, not the shape! They possibly spread a bit because they've got slightly too much liquid in them or raising agent, however I'm sure the boys aren't complaining. Congratulations on your 100th post, they're certainly entertaining and interesting.

Just catching up with blog reading after a few days of no computer. How dependent I have become, not to mention the Gregors - the Sasha girls, not so much - but boys without their techno toys seem lost when the weather is too wet to play outdoors.

We don't have halls, or even A hall to deck with holly etc. right now, but enjoyed seeing yours. We are more cupboard dwellers than hall owners this Christmas! So great to see beautiful trees etc. on blogs such as your and ooooh! Christmas baking! Great idea.... perhaps we can manage a little of that. Thank you for the inspiration...lets see what the Bryn Derw boys can do.

Anyone can have cookies shaped like stars, bells or trees. But who has Africa or New Zealand for Christmas? So, your boys are very lucky.
Plus, the icing is so pretty, and I know all little boys love colour.
Already 100 posts and never been boring? Congratulations on that!
