Seizing The Day

Daddy Steve: The weather here in Gregoropolis has been overcast and rainy lately.  So, when we did get a clear and sunny day last weekend, Blake was determined to make the most of it.

Blake: Hey Robin, it finally cleared up.  Let's go outside and enjoy the fine autumn day.
Robin:  Great idea!  Let me just grab a jacket.  Hmm, on second thought, maybe I should change clothes, too.

Robin: And I should also check my email first.  Should I bring a book along...or maybe the radio?

Blake: Did you know that Jane Austen once said "Why not seize the pleasure at once?  How often is happiness destroyed by preparation, foolish preparation!"

Robin:'re right.  Come on, let's go!

Robin: This is nice.
Blake: Yes, it certainly is.

A good message to be listened too!

Well done boys! Jane Austin was right it's so easy to get sidetracked and miss the opportunity to enjoy the moment.
Especially this time of year when they will not be so many chances to relax in the garden. Have a lovely weekend.

Hi Kendal and Dee -
I find that I always need to remind myself of this as the holidays approach. It's so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, and when it's all over feel as though I've missed something. Hope you are both enjoying autumn.

You're right, boys!
And how grand that Blake reads Jane Austen. Your kids live in a very cultivated household!

Glad the boys took the time to enjoy the day in the garden. They certainly wouldn't want to be doing that here at the moment!
