Holly Hobby

Holly Belle: Did I tell you that I've taken up a new hobby?
Nathan: You don't say...

Holly Belle: Try to guess what it is.
Nathan: Sky diving?
Holly Belle: What?!? Don't be ridiculous.

John Martin: >Sigh< What's your new hobby, Holly Belle?
Holly Belle: It's knitting!
John Martin: Really?  Actually, that's impressive.
Holly Belle: Wait here; I'll show you something I made.

Nathan: >Ugh<  Why do you encourage her?
John Martin: Well, it just seems like the polite thing to do.
Nathan: I know, but we talk to her, then she talks to us,
and then we have to talk to her more.

Nathan: Where does it end at last?  That's how wars start!
John Martin: I thought you like Holly Belle.
Nathan: Oh, I do...I guess.  I'm just not crazy about talking to her.

Holly Belle: Ta-da!  Just look at this!
John Martin: Um, it's a ball of yarn...
Holly Belle: I know!  It started out as a skein!

Nathan: Well, I guess you have to begin somewhere.

Brain Drain

Dev: Hmmm...what kind of completely un-fun activity do we have here?
Amita: We're doing some math exercises.
Ravi: We don't want to get rusty over the summer.
Dev: >snort< Heaven forbid!

Ravi: Want to join us?  We could come up with some >ahem< easier ones for you.
Dev: And run the risk of my brain exploding?!? No thank you!!

Amita: What on earth are you talking about?
Dev: Your brain can explode right out of your head if it gets too full.
It's an established fact.
Amita: Hmpf. Your head's full something, but it certainly isn't common sense.

Luke: Hey, we heard what you were just saying about
a person's brain exploding if they cram too much in it.
Oliver: Sounds awful!
Dev: Oh, it's not a pretty sight.

Luke: We have a summer reading list, but maybe we should just skip it.
Dev: Well, I don't think you two have much to worry about.
But, then again, you never know.

Uli: Vas ist all this indolent behavior I see?
Oliver: We're just making sure our brains don't explode.

Uli: Ja, gut. I just clean house and vant no messes.

Some Assembly Required

Meghan: So what's going on with all of these boards?
Nathan: Daddies John and Steve went to IKEA.
Frank: Did they eat Swedish meatballs??

Meghan: Why on earth would you immediately think of that?
Frank: Because I've got my priorities straight.
Meghan: Whatever...

Blake: It's going to be a storage cabinet for the bathroom.
Kevin: What do they need that for?
Blake: Well, it's like this--when adults get older,
they need a lot more 'bathroom-type things'.

Kevin: What kind of 'bathroom-type things'?
Blake: You know, I'd rather not get into it.

Alice: Oh dear, look at all of those little bits and pieces!
How will they ever figure them all out?
Paul: I'm sure they just throw a lot of extras in; like the Lego Advent calendars.

Frederick: These instructions read a bit vague.
Daphne: Basically, if the little man looks sad
then you know you've done something wrong.

Frederick: So, the objective is to keep the little man happy.
Daphne: Exactly!

Tyler: I think we need to make ourselves scarce while they put it together.
Mikko: Yeah, before Daddy Steve says
"Why don't you kids go play outside?" in that irritated voice he gets..
